Thirty years ago, a visionary woman handed me a business card containing the address of a new-on-the-scene radio station with which she had a business connection. She said, "Send the first broadcast here." At the time, I had no experience, no equipment, no training, no ideas, but I'd just told the Lord I'd follow Him anywhere and do anything He asked of me. So I pocketed the business card and set about learning how to write and produce a radio broadcast. All I had for sure was its name--THE HEARTBEAT OF THE HOME--and a passion for communicating the truths of God's Word as they apply to everyday life. Now, more than three decades later, the radio ministry has retired, but fiction and nonfiction book projects call to me as well. As I always say, "A bad day writing is better than a good day exfoliating...but only by a hair."
